Instrumental Studies Major
Graduate School of Music Master's Program Instrumental Studies Major
Keyboard Instrument Course
Our goal is to nurture musicians with a deeper and broader musical perspective than merely refining their mechanics. By gaining experience in chamber music and concertos, and also by engaging in musicological research, we aim to develop talented pianists who are more well-rounded.
Accompaniment Course
From the time of enrollment, students are divided into instrumental and vocal fields of study, and are taught a wide range of repertoire that will enable them to immediately put their skills to the test. At the same time, students are also given an understanding of the nature of instruments (instrumental) and literature (vocal), with the aim of cultivating high-quality accompanists who do more than simply arrange notes.
String, Wind and Percussion Course
We cultivate global performers. Students aiming to become soloists will acquire rich musicality through "repertoire study" and other activities. Students aiming to become orchestral musicians will deepen their expertise through professional practical experience, performing at the National Philharmonic Orchestra and other venues. Chamber music is taught jointly with students in the piano Accompaniment Course, and students will advance their research together with the ensemble instructor.
