The College's Founding Principles

Kunitachi College of Music The original "Tokyo Junior College of Music (Tokyo Music Conservatory)" was founded in 1926, and in 1950 it was reestablished as the new "College." Since then, it has sent many graduates to the world of music and music education in Japan. They have played an important role in the improvement of Japanese music culture as performers, educators, and business people. The scope of their activities is expanding both domestically and internationally, and we are expected to play an increasingly important role as a base for transmitting music culture in the 21st century.

Now, in order to master music professionally, one must not only improve one's technique, but also one's sensitivity and intelligence. It is not a synthesis of all of these, but each one of them must reach a high level. Naturally, it is not an easy road.
In other words, the path to mastering music is a path to mastering oneself, a process of constantly challenging and conquering oneself.
The goal of Kunitachi College of Music is to be a school for people who love music above all else, who believe in their dreams and commitment to music, and who are persistent in their own convictions.
