Teacher Training Course

A teacher training course is available for students who wish to work as a music teacher in a school or kindergarten after graduation.
Those who complete the teacher training course and meet the graduation requirements can obtain the license mentioned in the previous paragraph.
After obtaining a junior high or high school teaching license from Faculty of Music, students who complete Graduate School and obtain the required number of credits can obtain a specialized junior high or high school teaching license.

To obtain a teaching license, students must take many other courses in addition to the required subjects in their department and major, and also undergo teaching practice. In addition, those seeking a junior high school teaching license must also complete a total of seven days of nursing care experience. It takes considerable effort to obtain a license by the time of graduation.
In addition, since Department of Music Cultures & Education Music Education for Early Childhood aims to train teachers, all students are required to take a teacher training course as a general rule.

Third grade

  • Pre-training for nursing care experience (social welfare facilities/junior high school license applicants)

  • Nursing care experience (5 days at a social welfare facility / Junior high school license applicants)

  • Submit teaching practice application form
  • Information session for those who wish to do teaching practice at Tokyo Metropolitan public schools (kindergartens)

Curator Course

Curators are professional staff who work at museums, art galleries, etc. as defined by the Museum Act, and are responsible for collecting, storing, and exhibiting materials, as well as conducting research.

Those who complete the curatorial course and meet the graduation requirements will be issued a "Certificate of Curatorial Qualification" upon graduation.
Obtaining a curator's qualification requires considerable effort, as students must take many courses in addition to the required courses in their department and major, and also undergo museum training.
Furthermore, in order to avoid any disruption to specialized coursework and practical training, students cannot obtain both a teaching license and a curatorial qualification at the same time upon graduation.
